The Government`s decision to open up airwaves is bearing fruit, as one of the six licensees 3Ktv has announced that they will be going live on February 28.

Owned by the publishers of the Daily News, 3KTV will be on DSTV.

In a statement, the station`s General Manager Emmanuel Nyamayedenga said they will be showing local dramas, reality shows, news, sport, educational programmes, documentaries and will spotlight a wide range of Zimbabwean topics and people.

Nyamayedenga said that the channel aims at amassing the largest following as the most trusted and innovative station in Zimbabwe.

“We will share compelling stories about our beautiful country as we leverage the exciting partnership between 3Ktv and MultiChoice.

The synergy is envisage to promote the shared rich cultural diversity among our people over and above the technical and production support for the creative industry in television and film in Zimbabwe,” he said.

The broadcaster is one of the six channels that were awarded Broadcasting Licenses by Broadcasting Authorities of Zimbabwe under the company Jester Media Services.

3Ktv will launch at 6.00am on Monday, February 28, 2022 on channel 293.

The channel will broadcast 24 hours a day, everyday of the week from their studios in Harare.

MultiChoice Zimbabwe general manager Norman Raisbeck said the development will further enhance the range of Zimbabwean produced content available on DStv.

The entrance of 3Ktv brings hope of more diversity and plurality in Broadcast Media.
