President Mnangagwa says his administration will be scaling up the provision of health facilities to new settlements.

This shows the seriousness being attached to Government`s gradual but scientific plan to regularize settlements born out of the parallel development processes.

Data gathered by the Zimbabwe National Geospatial and Space Agency showing where amenities will be placed to serve new communities is now being put to use.

Addressing attendees at the handover ceremony of Stoneridge Health Centre in Harare South yesterday, the President explained the new direction Government will be taking.

He also handed over 40 ambulances, 32 which were bought by Government and eight by the UNDP.

President Mnangagwa said he was disappointed that since his last visit to Harare South there has been very little movement in terms of provisions of roads, schools, potable waters and other basic amenities.

“The undue and unjustifiable delays are not acceptable and against the work culture of the Second Republic. The Ministry of Local Government and Public Works is therefore directed to speedily ensure that the Stoneridge community has access to quality services in line with my Government’s development philosophy of leaving no one and no place behind,” said President Mnangagwa.

President Mnangagwa said 30 clinic will be built through a loan facility received from the United Kingdom government.

“My Government is unwavering in its commitment to accelerate the provision of adequate social infrastructure for new settlements which have been established around our cities,” said President Mnangagwa.

He called for the speedy implementation of projects.

“The speedy and successful completion of the projects under phase 1 will unlock the release of additional funds under the loan facility. Meanwhile I applaud the complementary efforts and collaboration by development and cooperating partners, towards the realization of the Health sector outcomes among an array of other developments aspects,” said President Mnangagwa.
