Government through the ERRP2 – Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme has begun working on the infamous Masotsha Ndlovu road in Waterfalls, Harare.

Masotsha Ndlovu, which connects Simon Mazorodze and Chitungwiza road had become a beehive of sorts, with some Twitter users describing it as the most damaged urban road in the country.

This was due to the neglect by the City of Harare, who squander resources in perks for executives at the expense of service delivery.
After distress calls by residents, Government has responded with directing resources to fixing urban roads.

When Tateguru Tv passed through Waterfalls yesterday, men were already at work just outside Mbuya Dorcas Hospital in Mainway Meadows.

Information, Broadcasting and Publicity Services Permanent Secretary Mr Nick Mangwana, through his Twitter, confirmed that work is in progress.

“Many have been asking about the rehabilitation of Masotsha Ndlovu road. Well, some rehabilitation work started there on Saturday 24 July 2021,” Mr Mangwana wrote.

President Mnangagwa`s administration, despite the financial pressure brought by the pandemic has set aside funds to allow the rehabilitation of city roads, which had become a threat to life and vehicles.

Transport and Infrastructure Development Minister Felix Mhona recently gave an update on the ongoing works.

He said the Zimbabwe National Road Authority has to date.
Minister Mhona said it was pleasing to note that ZINARA has to date disbursed over $2 billion for road rehabilitation countrywide.

“To date ZINARA has disbursed over $2 billion for road rehabilitation under ERRP 2 and to local authorities for routine maintenance of roads,” said Minister Mhona.
