Ministry of Health and Child Care has printed vaccinations cards with security features and is expediting the distribution process to all provinces.

This follows reports of some unscrupulous individuals who were producing fake Covid-19 vaccination certificates.

The cards are accompanying the vaccines which are being dispensed during the accelerated drive to vaccinate one million people in two weeks.

This was announced by Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa who said the cards have security features include a water marked paper and a coat of arms which can only be seen under ultra violet (UV)light making it impossible to be reproduced by these unscrupulous persons.

“The Card which is going to be printed by Fidelity Printers, will exhibit the following features: invisible coat of arms, which shines under UV Light; fluorescent numbering; water-marked security paper; micro text underground; and guilloche pattern,” said Minister Mutsvangwa.

Minister Mutsvangwa added that farmers will not be required to produce vaccination cards when delivering maize however they will still be required to adhere to COVID-19 regulations.

Meanwhile, the rollout of vaccines to hotspots and border posts is in full swing.

Out of the 2 million vaccines received by the Ministry of Health and Child Care every province has received 50 000 except for Harare & Bulawayo who received 100 000.
