Cabinet has assured all Zimbabwean citizens waiting for their second Covid-19 vaccine dose, that they will complete the process with ease.
This comes after fears, largely pushed by hostile media, that the country was facing a shortage of vaccines, when it was instead a rollout chain glitch in need of simple rectification.
In today`s post-cabinet briefing, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa said cabinet has approved a strategy to ensure that the growing demand for vaccine shots is met.
“The public is advised that efforts to ensure the availability of doses continue as a matter of priority. The Ministry of Health and Child Care is redistributing existing stocks to ensure availability of the second dose. A batch of 500 000 doses of vaccine is expected in the country by 15th June, 2021,” said Minister Mutsvangwa.
To date, Zimbabwe which has one of the best vaccine rollouts in the region, has vaccinated 688 696 people with the first dose and 385 275 have received their second jabs.
