Five women from Wedza have been convicted for assaulting a girl and sharing the video on social media. The group included four juveniles under 18 and one adult aged 19. They were found guilty of aggravated indecent assault, cyberbullying, unlawful detention, and assault, all of which occurred on July 4th in Wedza.

Vimbai Mike, 19, and a 17-year-old who is married with two children, were each sentenced to five years in prison for indecent assault. Additionally, they received one-year sentences for cyberbullying, unlawful detention, and assault. However, these sentences will run concurrently within the five-year term.

The three other juveniles involved were not sentenced but were warned that if they commit a similar crime within the next five years, they will face consequences.

The five women were accused of stripping and assaulting a fellow villager until she lost consciousness. They recorded the incident and shared the video online, which went viral and led to their arrest.
