The family of the late Zanu PF activist Magura Charumbira who perished in an accident at the onset of the Second Republic today received a late Christmas cheer and New Year blessings courtesy of Emmerson Mnangagwa Jnr’s charity wing, Emmerson Mnangagwa Foundation which gifted the family grocery hampers and US$1000 to cover the coming year’s fees for the children.
This was said by Cde Charles Munganasa the Spokesperson and Information and Publicity officer of The Emmerson Mnangagwa Foundation today when he was giving feedback on efforts which had been made to trace the family of the fallen hero of the Second Republic.
Announcing the good news, Cde Munganasa said, “Good Evening Cdes. Today we managed to link up with the late Cde Magura Magura’s wife and the children. Our delegation led by Cde Emmanuel Sunduza, Cde Mabutho Moyo and Cde Blessed Mushando handed over groceries and USD $1 000 to cover primary school fees for the year.”
He extended the warmest of gratitude to the First Son saying; “Allow me to thank cde Emmerson Jnr for funding this initiative. Let me also thank members of this noble platform for remembering cde Magura. May this spirit of togetherness mushroom across generations and generations to come.”
Efforts to locate the family ofthe late Cde Magura had been hampered by lack of network coverage in the area where the wife was said to have relocated after the death of her husband.
Cde Magura was one of those people who booed the then First Lady Grace Mugabe at White City Stadium at the height of the internal party heavals in Zanu PF leading to his arrest. He had many run-ins with authorities as he solidly supported the then VP Mnangagwa to succeed the late President Mugabe.
