A woman was caught inside Epworth Polyclinic yesterday, as she tried to escape the facility with a newborn.

The woman, who identified herself as Josy Kanzimbe, entered the clinic disguised as a general hand, in company of a few accomplices.

She was apprehended by nurses, who immediately quizzed her, a process which led her to revealing that she wanted to sell the baby in South Africa for ritual purposes.

According to sources at the clinic, the woman was loitering around the section where new mothers rest.

She took advantage of one woman who left her baby unattended and she pounced.

A security officer suspected that the lady had left the ward without being discharged and took her back to the clinic.

In the video suspected to have been taken by nurses the woman said she was going to give the baby to someone who buys babies, cuts their heads and sells them in South Africa for money.

The ritualist had promised her a commuter omnibus in return.

She said there are more like her stealing newly born babies from clinics and hospitals for rituals.
