The death of veteran actress Rodha Mtembe known as Mai Sorobhi in the drama series Paraffin has been described as a great loss in the entertainment industry.
The late actress suffered a stroke in early 2019 which partially paralyzed her left side.
Her relative, Comedian Admire “Bhutisi” Kuzhangaira confirmed her death.
She was 79.
“My grandmother Mai Sorobhi is nomore. She was struck twice. As she was recovering, she was attacked again last week,” he said.
The entertainment industry described the death of this icon as a loss.
Celebrities pages were flooded with condolence messages on the death of Mai Sorobhi.
Entrepreneur and Socialite Joey Nyikadzino described on her Facebook page, Mai Sorobhi as a heroine in the entertainment industry.
“It’s sad to know vatisiya. I grew up admiring how brilliant they were as a couple namdhara Paraffin. Rest in peace mhamha you left a dark mark in our entertainment industry. Shangu dzenyu hadzipfekeke zvekudaro, makarwa kurwa kwakanaka…,” she said.
Another veteran actor, Timothy Tapfumaneyi known as Timmy in the drama “Timmy naBhonzo” described Mlai Sorobhi as an inspiration in the entertainment industry.
“She was an extremely gifted person in the arts and media sector. This is a woman who touched a lot of our people’s hearts in this country,” he said.
Madam Boss said the gap left will be hard to fill.
“Rest in Peace Gogo, my mum’s favorite ,” Lorraine Guyo said.
Mai Sorobhi’s family says they are struggling to meet funeral costs to respectfully bury their mother.
