Santa Claus has paid Binga an early visit, as the First Family’s philanthropic hand extends to the community.
The son and namesake of the President of Zimbabwe turns 38 this year and as per tradition, he celebrates it through philanthropy.
This year Emmerson Junior Foundation donated Christmas hampers to Orphans and Widows within the Binga Community.
Hampers included most basic household goods.
The foundation also donated a heifer and two goats to Binga’s Chief Saba.
They also hosted a Christmas party for the Youths of Binga Community.
Chief Saba, thanked Emmerson Jnr and President Mnangagwa for remembering the Binga community which had been marginalized in the past.
“I want to thank Emmerson Jnr and particularly the President. Binga had been forgotten but the new dispensation came to our rescue.
The future looks bright for Binga, we will continue supporting our government’s efforts in building a better Zimbabwe,” said Chief Saba.
The donations made by the Emmerson Mnangagwa Jnr through foundation were handed over on his behalf by foundation Chairperson Emmanuel Sunduza, Spokesperson Charles Munganasa, Mat North Youth League Chairperson, Cde Alvin Lundy Sinzeka and Zanu Central Committee Member Cde Veronica Munkuli.
Spokesperson of the Emmerson Jnr Foundation Charles Munganasa told TateguruTV that philanthropy is embedded in first family`s DNA.
“The fruit doesn’t fall too far from the tree, just as the President and First Lady, Emmerson Jnr has shown great love and compassion to the underprivileged.
Each and every year he celebrates his birthday with the Orphans, widows and elderly,” said Munganasa.
Munganasa said the Spirit of Giving in the first family runs too deep and too strong to be bothered by the recently imposed sanctions on Emmerson Jnr by the United States Government.
“Sanctions remain what they are, just sanctions. But a good man remains a good man. No amount of persecution can deter good deeds. Emmerson Jnr is a humble, patriotic, hard working and law abiding citizen of Zimbabwe who is cherished and loved by his fellow Zimbabweans. There is no debate about that,” said Munganasa.
