Dis-honourable…Is Jasmine Tofa the new face of atrocity propaganda?

In an interesting turn of events, it has emerged that Citizen Coalition for Change MP Hon Toffa was never assaulted by Zanu PF members, as widely circulated by activists from her party including David Coltart.

The issue has since attraced the attention of Zimbabwe’s voyeurs in the House of Commons in the United Kingdom.

 

There were pictures of an allegedly bilateral arm fractured Proportional Representation legislator lying in what we were told was a hospital appearing to be in a medical mess of some kind.

 

This has been revealed to have been some play acting.

 

Many were surprised to see the same person who was supposed to be a victim of brutal political violence, failing to resist the temptation of Parliamentary Sitting Allowances without a sign of any physical discomfort or pain.

 

This was supposed to be the same person who had undergone a major surgery for two broken arms who was gesticulating with the broken arms now miraculously healed.

 

Witness say what had happened on the fateful day in the build up to the October 22 by-elections was that Zanu PF was on a campaign trail and were holding a rally. The CCC hoodlums came to circle around the venue of the rally about five times. After that they started distributing flyers right outside the venue in what was perceived to be a clear act of political provocation.

ZANU PF youth wing wanted to rise to the confrontation but were restrained by their local senior leadership who just felt the CCC hoodlums were just immature activists high on unidentified illegal substances.

 

Honourable Tofa, was nowhere near this venue and therefore could not have been a victim of the skirmishes, if any.

 

It was surprising that claims of political violence were then made, when nothing of the sort had happened, and to make matters worse, when the alleged victim was nowhere near this scene.

 

ZANU PF has to learn lessons from this fake incident of violence and wise up to the opposition shenanigans.

 

The opposition’s Atrocity Propaganda modus operandus has morphed only marginally but it’s the same methodology used by Dr Magombeyi and Joanna Mamombe et al. Now they have moved from claims of abduction to claims of political violence.

 

The strange thing is that when these incidences happen, there will be Zanu PF members witnessing all this with their phones in their pockets but nobody bothers to record this as it happens.

 

It’s not good enough for the Party Youths to have the correct ideology without street wisdom.

 

The youth need to wise up and not be caught napping and outsmarted by these unpatriotic louts.

.The same thing cannot be done against them over and over again without them coming up with ways to deal with this menace.

 

This is because as we trudge towards the 2023 Harmonised Elections, we are going to see more dramatic histrionics from the ill-prepared to discredit the process so as to save face and political careers.

 

Tragically the West is either highly in complicit or prejudiced or gullible enough to always gobble in this propaganda.

 

In any case, it is unsurprising that architects of the atrocity propaganda are prepared to be uncritical in their analyses of issues raised by the opposition.
