Dangarembga calls out CCC for lack of accountability

Award winning author and CCC staunch supporter and activist, Tsitsi Dangarembga has taken to microblogging site Twitter, guns blazing over a USD $120 000 donation for Chamisa’s new bulletproof car, which is yet to be accounted for.

Dangarembga, a stern anti-corruption activist, says the lack of transparency in the so called citizen steered party is exactly why she will not lend a dollar to their cause.

“This is a very sad situation that has undermined my willingness to donate financially to CCC causes. This willingness will only be rekindled once I see accountability & respect for the citizens whose movement they say it is. “We behave like this because of the oppressor” does not cut it out for me,” added Dangarembga.

Chamisa has been in the epicentre of financial mishandlings in the opposition party since the day he took over from the late Morgan Tsvangirai in the then MDC.

In February of 2020 the NewsDay reported that USD $2 million had vanished from MDC coffers.
That same year in March, Zimbabwe Independent reported that MDC heavies bayed for Chamisa’s blood over deep-rooted financial mismanagement.

The most recent was the USD 120 000 donations made by CCC supporters for a new bulletproof car for Chamisa.

The idea of buying a bullet proof vehicle came after an altercation with the local people in Charumbira Village who stoned and chased Chamisa’s motorcade out of the village in response to one of Chamisa’s bodyguards drawing his weapon on an elderly woman.

Interim Spokesperson for the CCC Fadzayi Mahere and Interim Treasurer General Doug Coltart has since denied having knowledge of such donations following enquiry on where the car is.

Political analysts have hinted toward the loosely organised structures and haphazard execution of fundraisers by the CCC as a deliberate plot to loot donations and resources meant for CCC running.
