President Mnangagwa has challenged young people in Zimbabwe to take advantage of the new dispensation`s pro-business policies to make money.

Speaking at the just ended ZANU PF youth congress yesterday, President Mnangagwa said there is money to be made by young people in Zimbabwe.

“The theme of this Conference, ‘Vision 2030: Revitalise, Empower, Involve the Youth’ reiterates the need for the increased recognition and participation of young people in the mainstream economy and body politic. I, therefore, urge you all to take advantage of the numerous opportunities arising from the modernisation and industrialisation of our country,” said President Mnangagwa.

President Mnangagwa said that Government continues facilitating youth empowerment, education and skills development initiatives. Opportunities have been availed at innovation hubs and industrial parks at institutions of higher learning so that the youth realise their full potential.

“In line with our declaration of 2022 as the ‘Year of Growth,’ I challenge you to start many more businesses and create wealth for yourselves, your families and the country. Especially in sectors such as construction, ICT, tourism and the financial service sectors among others,” President Mnangagwa said.

He reminded youth that the days to line up and seek for jobs are fading and they must leverage on the country’s rich endowments, to create decent job opportunities towards the growth of local economies and rural industries in their provinces, districts, wards and villages.

President Mnangagwa said Youth Empowerment Bank will continue to offer tailor made youth business and entrepreneurship starter packs, financial products and services to meet the aspirations the youth.

Development partners working with the youth were challenged to tailor make sustainable development programmes and projects to enhance the economic prospects of young people.
