The ruling ZANU-PF has today appointed Cde Patrick Chinamasa as the Acting Political Commissar.
The position has been vacant since the secondment of Cde Victor Matemadanda to Ambassador of Zimbabwe to Mozambique.
The announcement was made by Party spokesperson Cde Simon Khaya-Moyo during a press brief with the media after today`s politburo session.
“The President and First Secretary of ZANU-PF President Emmerson Mnangagwa confirmed that former Political Commissar, Cde Victor Matemadanda has been accepted by the government of Mozambique as Ambassador for Zimbabwe. With effect from today Cde Patrick Chinamasa has been appointed as the Acting National Political Commissar,” said Cde SK Moyo.
The outgoing Political Commissar -now Ambassador- Cde Matemadanda was present at the press brief and denounced the rumours that had been peddled by enemies of the party, saying he was demoted from the position of Party Political Commissar.
