Chimanimani FM, one of the 14 community radio stations licensed by Government on Monday received broadcasting equipment from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The UN agency handed over the equipment worth thousands of dollars to Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, who relayed the gadgets to the radio staff.
All Chimanimani FM pioneering staff were trained on the basics of broadcasting by the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe.
The Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services Dr Jenfan Muswere also travelled for the occasion as it coincided with the International Day to Universal Access to Information at Chimanimani Festival grounds.
Chimanimani FM will come in handy to the community, which is still trying to forget the devastating effects of Cyclone Idai, which happened in 2019.
