Zimbabwe`s political Cobra Nelson Chamisa has thrown the CCC National Chairperson Job Sikhala under the bus for leading violent protests in Nyatsime last week.

Chitungwiza North legislator Sikhala and  Godfrey Sithole were arrested for being ring leaders in an orgie of violence which saw property worth thousands being destroyed at slain woman Moreblessing Ali`s funeral.
Chamisa has distanced himself from the duo and their followers.

In a cryptic Tweet, Chamisa said Sikhala and Sithole acted without the party`s blessing.
“We are a peaceful citizens movement. We believe in non-violence. Those among us who acted on their own accord in Nyatsime should submit themselves before our laws. That is not the citizens’ way.”

In an interview with online platform ZimLive, Sikhala vowed to avenge Ali`s death and made a threat against the family of chief suspect Pius Jamba.

Sikhala also made reference to a volunteers ready to do the business.
Not a stranger to reckless utterances, Sikhala has on occasions set himself on a collision course with the law to please his political leadership which does not hesitate to cast a blind eye to his efforts.

Countless times Sikhala has taken the full force of the law while Chamisa and other higher up elites in the opposition enjoy the warmth of their homes while Sikhala slowly becomes a jail bird.

It was the same case in 2020 when Sikhala was arrested in Masvingo for making treasonous utterances in Bikita.

It was also followed by a protest by then MDC-Alliance party members who burnt vendor stalls at the Civic Centre Flea Market in Masvingo.
Following this event, Chamisa published a statement disowning the violent acts by the Sikhala faction.

On 1 August 2018, Chamisa again said the people who died protesting against the election results were stupid.
This is the same Chamisa who has a fundraiser dubbed ‘Chamisa defend the vote’ running with his face on it.

Political analysts say it is becoming Chamisa`s habit of abandoning members of his party when they are in trouble with the law.
The 44-year-old is under pressure, as Western funders continue to ask him to destabilize Zimbabwe however the resilience and strength of the Second Republic has left Washington and London frustrated.

This has seen the adoption of a new tactic, where opposition create a negative scene whenever there is a major global event on the horizon, this is what informed the politicization of Ali`s death.
