Chamisa seeks to exploit students in campaign

Opposition CCC, which is struggling to stay afloat has turned to trickery to try and operationalize its campaign as next year`s elections draw near.

The Nelson Chamisa led party has been trying to hold fundraising campaigns in different jurisdictions and every attempt has seen its representatives earn less from those efforts than the money they use to travel.

CCC Vice President Lynnette Kore has been on a futile crusade of seeking funds which has seen her visit South Africa and the United Kingdom.

In South Africa, Kore managed to raise a paltry 900 Rands from an event in Kwazulu Natal.
Seeing that their diaspora support has waned, they have since turned to students.

They have launched a creature called Students for change is a Citizens’ Initiative organized by Students.

The plan is to use students to create content which they will campaign with.
“Create a video telling us the New Zimbabwe you want under the leadership of President Adv Nelson Chamisa. Two winners will be selected, the first prize going to the most viewed video across the listed social media platforms which are Facebook, Tiktok, and Twitter.

The prize includes a dinner with Chamisa on December 16, 2022. The second prize will be chosen by Chamisa himself. He will choose his best video and the winner will get a video call from him and prize money of US$50,” wrote CCC in a statement.

This is an attempt, by the party, to use trickery to get students to do their bidding, as the adult world of economically active Zimbabweans has shunned them both at home and away.
