MDC-Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa`s failure to unify his party is a sign that he is likely to fail at governing the nation, a leading global academic has said.
Professor Stephen Chan, a Professor of Politics at the University Of London School Of African Studies Chamisa does not have the capacity requisite for one to competently lead a country.
In a tweet, Professor Chan warned MDC-Alliance sympathisers not to expect what happened in Zambia, as Chamisa lacks the institutional structure necessary to pull of an electoral victory.
“In Zambia Hichilema`s UNDP also defeated Lungu`s PF party, making it a Presidential and Parliamentary victory.
In Zimbabwe, the MDC remains in disarray. A Presidential candidate can`t be a lone ranger. If he can`t run a party, can he run a nation?” said Professor Chan.
In the past, Chan used to be pro-opposition but of late he has been disillusioned by Chamisa`s lack of political tact.
MDC-Alliance as a party has been celebrating Hichilema`s victory as a sign of their own political salvation, in a classic case of salivating over the aroma emitted by a neighbour`s stew, while peeling pumpkin leaves for their own dinner.
