Campfire districts from across the country met in Kadoma on Monday and elected a new board.

The Board will be chaired by Alderman Luka Ndou from Beitbridge, deputised by Alderman Zoolake Nyathi from Bulilima.
Other seven board members are Edward Matsilele(Chiredzi), Stewart Mbulawa(Gokwe North), Snikiwe Nyathi(Hwange), Cookie Moyo(Bubi), Robson Chidongo(Mbire), Patience Mlambo (Chipinge), and Manager Sobani(Tsholotsho).
In his maiden speech, the new board chairperson, Alderman Ndou applauded the outgoing board that was led by Alderman Zvikomborero Manguwo from Uzumba.
“The thrust of the new board is to ensure that communities benefit more from the management of natural resources under the new dispensation and the board will work closely with government in attaining this objective,” said Alderman Ndou.
CAMPFIRE Association was established as a private voluntary organisation in 1994 to lead the implementation of the Community Areas Management Programme for Indigenous Resources.
