Goromonzi West parliamentarian Ozias Bvute has been disqualified from today’s provincial chairmanship elections.
Bvute, a businessman was in the running for the Mashonaland East party chairmanship.
In a statement, Zanu Pf Spokesperson Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa announced the latest development.
“The National Spokesperson advises the Mashonaland East Province, Party Administrative Districts and the entire provincial electorate that Cde Ozias Bvute has failed to qualify to stand as a candidate for the position of Chairman of the Province.
As such, he is no longer a candidate and voters are hereby informed to take note of the latest development,” said Cde Mutsvangwa.
He also gave an update on Mashonaland West, where Cde Abia Mujeri who was running for the province’s chairmanship pulled out of the race.

This leaves current Mashonaland West Provincial Minister, Mary Mliswa as a frontrunner in the province.
Zanu Pf has warned against destructive competitiveness in the polls.
“As voting commences tomorrow, all Party cadres, candidates and supporters are advised to observe and abide by all the rules and guidelines prescribed by the Party’s Constitution and vote peacefully.
Stern action will be taken against all forms of unruly behaviour or violence,” said Cde Mutsvangwa.
