Organisers of one of the biggest public events in the country, the Harare Agriculture Show are expecting a full house during this year`s edition.
The past two seasons have forced event organisers to reduce the number of people they admit, due to Covid-19 considerations.
However, with restrictions being reduced, the Zimbabwe Agriculture Society has room to return to their regular numbers, which are in the region of 40 000 to 60 000 people per year.
”There is hope and optimism that the good old days will be bouncing back. Remember, the past two years have not been well, but due to efforts being put in place to recover from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, there is absolutely interest by more exhibitors ahead of the show by end of this month,” said Dr Andrew Matibiri, Zimbabwe Agricultural Society chief executive officer.
The scope of the Agricultural Show is set to grow beyond farming, but also incorporating manufacturing and mining sectors, which have been on an upward rise.
“It is quite encouraging to note that an agro business conference has been confirmed, so indeed, for the mining industry, there is also a mining breakfast meeting that seeks to bring together all players in the mining sector on different issues,” said Miriyoni Tawonga, Zimbabwe Agricultural Society spokesperson said.
The Zimbabwe Agricultural Show will be held from the August 29 to September 3 this year under the theme, ‘Unequal Business Opportunities, Accessing, Accounting and Abundance’.
