BREAKING: DNA idenpersontifies who impregnated Tsholotsho minor

Zimbabwe Republic Police communicated findings from the DNA test which sought to establish the person responsible for the nine-year old Tsholotsho ‘mother’.
The nine year old who recently gave birth has been in the news ever since her pregancy became public knowledge.
There was suspicion that the father was responsible but the result has cleared him.
According to a statement released by national Police Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, another minor impregnated the nine-year old.
“The ZRP confirms that the Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) results obtained from National University of Science and Technology on November 25, 2022, in connection with the paternity of the 9-year-old child have established that the victim’s cousin brother of age 13 is the father of the child,” said Assistant Commissioner Nyathi.
Both the 9-year-old complainant and the suspect are now in the hands of the Victim Friendly Unit (VFU).
The Police is now working with other relevant arms of the Government to ensure that the due processes of the law are followed,” Assistant Commissioner Nyathi said.
The DNA tests have exonerated the victim’s father who was the main suspect in the court of public opinion.
