The Constitutional Amendment No. 2 Bill has sailed through Senate in a vote conducted this afternoon. In today`s vote 65 Senators have voted YES while 10 voted NO.
The Bill will now be presented to the Head of State President Emerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa for assent. The President is required to assent to the Bill within a twenty-one day period or if he withholds his assent, he shall return the Bill to Parliament for further deliberations
The Bill sailed through the lower House with 191 legislators voting YES against 44 NO votes. (More to follow)
