BREAKING : ALL 15 Miners safe after successful Rescue Mission

The 15 miners who were trapped underground at Redwing Mine in Penhalonga have emerged from the collapsed mine shaft alive.
The 15 miners who were trapped underground at Redwing mine have been rescued so far : names of those already out are Tatenda Gumbo,Kudakwashe Mucharwa,Simbarashe Siziba,Godson Mandimutsa,Owen Jaison,Maxwell Matsangomba ,Joseph Sithole and Promise Gumbo, Conrad Tsiga, Brian Mucharwa, Kodzana Dzina, Robson Manama and Douglas Mhlanga.Reports from the artisinal miners who are already out are that all the 15 of them were alive underground.
Minister of Mines and Mining Development Hon. Soda Zhemu was on the scene as rescue efforts yielded results.
In his briefing on the situation on January 4, 2024 he said that the accident happened between 0500-0600am today Thursday 04 January 2024.
“I have established that Metallon Gold Redwing has been tributing mining areas at Redwing even to individuals. The shaft that collapsed was under some individuals and the people trapped were workers of the tribute.
Management of tributed areas falls under the Principal owner, Metallon Gold in this case.
Therefore, The Rescue team from Metallon has been leading in the rescue effort supported by Ministry of Mines and other stakeholders including ZRP and Civil Protection,” he said.
