President Emmerson Mnangagwa officially commissioned Boulevard Roadand in Mount Hampden this Friday, and applauded the commitment and workmanship of local contractors in propelling infrastructure development.
The Second Republic continues to register huge milestones in the infrastructure development drive, with the opening of a traffic circle and the 5.7 kilometres of Boulevard Road which links Harare-Bindura Road and the Parliament Building.
Its reopening marks another milestone in the construction and upgrading of infrastructure under the Second Republic since 2018.
President Mnangagwa had a feel of the road as well as the traffic circle before officially commissioning the project.
“I’m happy with the works being carried out by local contractors and it is important to take note of their commitment to deliver world-class infrastructure to the people of Zimbabwe,” he said.
The Head of State said construction works underway countrywide cement the mantra; “Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo/Ilizwe Lakhiwa Ngabanikazi Balo.”
“Zimbabwe continues to make strides in the delivery of world-class infrastructure utilising local contractors and resources,’ he added.
Meanwhile, the government has taken over the beautification of the City of Harare through the installation of street lights and the planting of trees, among other initiatives.
