Ayanda Muponda granted bail

Ayanda Muponda, a 23 year old Harare socialite popular for dealing in sex toys (dildos), was set free on bail yesterday (Monday) by the High Court in Harare after two weeks of incarceration.
Ayanda Muponda, who was represented by lawyer Zorodzai Dumbura, was released on ZWL$30,000 bail by High Court Judge Esther Muremba. She was ordered to report to the police twice a week.
Initially, Ayanda appeared at Mbare Magistrates Court and was charged with violating the Customs and exercise Act and exposing children to pornographic materials.
Muponda was initially denied bail after she had tempered with evidence by pulling down her pages, where she was displaying and advertising the offensive adult toys.
Ayanda became popular on microblogging sites Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Tik Tok as she was marketing her sex toys through real life videos.
