Awards galore for Zimbabwe at ITB Germany

Zimbabwe has collected maximum Awards at the Pacific Area Travel Writers Awards (PATWA) held at the ongoing International Travel Bourse (ITB) taking place in Berlin, Germany.
On a night filled with glamour and splendour, Zimbabwe won the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA) 2023 Destination of the Year, Natural Beauty Award, while Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Chief Executive Officer Winnie Muchanyuka won the PATWA Destination Manager of the Year Award.
To put icing on the cake, Zimbabwe’s own Minister of Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Dr. Nqobizitha Ndlovu scooped the PATWA Tourism Minister of the Year for Southern Africa.
For Zimbabwe, these Awards are testimony to the great work and commitment shown by government through various tourism promotion endeavours which include among other interventions attention to detail at all international exhibitions.
The International Tourism Bourse (ITB) is one of the biggest tourism exhibitions attracting more than 185 countries, 900 top buyers, 10000 exhibitors, 23000 visitors and more than 165000 private and public visitors. As such it is such a significant platform for Zimbabwe to advance it’s presence on the market.
Led by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) Zimbabwe has taken a bold stance never to miss an opportunity to showcase the vast tourist attractions and natural endowments that abound in the country.
The country is participating at this year’s International Tourism Bourse in Berlin, with a record 15 local travel and tourism players taking part in the exhibitions.
Zimbabwe has adopted International exhibitions as one of the recovery strategies for the sector in addition to other initiatives such as the promotion of domestic tourism, intensified market representation, trade development, media relations, and destination campaigns.
