Another Rimbi accident claims two
Questions are beginning to emerge over the conduct of Rimbi Travel and Tours bus crews after one of its buses was yesterday involved in an accident.
The bus which was Malawi bound was involved in a three-way collision including a motorbike and Toyota Fortuner at Mutoko Growth Point, along the Harare-Nyamapanda highway on Tuesday.
Eyewitnesses say the bus collided with a motorcycle near Mutoko Centre. The two people who were travelling on the motorcycle died on the spot while passengers in the Rimbi Travel and Tours bus suffered no injuries.
The Toyota Fortuner veered off the road and spun three times before coming to a stop.
This comes a few weeks after the government reinstated Rimbi Travel and Tours’ operating license after an accident which emanated from reckless crew behaviour.
Rimbi Tours is said to have been banned from the Harare-Nyamapanda highway after another high-speed chase accident along the same route last month.
