Americans are not saints

Nevanji Munyaradzi Chiondegwa

The reason why the United States of America is not a signatory to the ineffectual International Criminal Court which seems to target Africans and those branded enemies by the West is because their psychotic rapists and murderers are in uniform!

In every war since the Korean War, the US Army has been involved in one way or the other with the massacre of civilians curiously branded as suspected terrorists. The My Lai massacre was one of the most horrific incidents of violence committed during the Vietnam War.

A company of American soldiers brutally killed most of the people—women, children and old men—in the village of My Lai on March 16, 1968.

By the time the My Lai massacre ended 504 unarmed people, 182 women, 17 of them pregnant, 173 children, 56 of them infants were brutally slaughtered by the US Army in Vietnam. Most of the women were raped first.

On 19 November, 2005, US Marines went on a five-hour killing spree in the Iraqi city of Haditha, killing 24 unarmed civilians including women, the elderly and children.

According to eyewitnesses and local officials, the marines went on a rampage in Haditha after a roadside bomb killed a US Marine.

Many of the victims were killed “execution-style”: shot in the head or in the back. Among the dead were men, women, elderly people and children as young as 1, who were shot multiple times at close range while unarmed. The victims in one home were girls aged 1, 3, 5, 10 and 14.

Just like in the case of the My Lai Massacre, all of the killers who were arrested over the massacre served no jail time and got away with mass murder.

In the last days of the battle against the Islamic State in Syria, next to a town called Baghuz, a large crowd of women and children huddled against a river bank had three bombs, one 500 pound and two 2000pound bombs dropped on them. All were killed. It was March 18, 2019.

At the U.S. military’s busy Combined Air Operations Center at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, uniformed personnel watching the live drone footage looked on in stunned disbelief, according to one officer who was there. “Who dropped that?” a confused analyst typed on a secure chat system being used by those monitoring the drone, two people who reviewed the chat log recalled. Another responded, “We just dropped on 50 women and children.”

Like in the My Lai Massacre and many other such massacres carried out by the USA, in ten or so years, Hollywood will produce a movie of the situation where the soldiers will have to deal with their inner demons.

As they suffer what will be portrayed as a crisis of conscience, they will be perfectly portrayed as victims, not perpetrators of mass murder. They will get sanitized, earn public sympathy and get empathized with. There will be no justice for the victims who will be perfectly labelled insurgents.

In Vietnam, they were labelled Viet Cong, killed because they were suspected of being communists, in Iraq they were suspected of supporting Al Qaeda. In Syria, they were members of the Islamic State. In Afghanistan were 40% of civilian deaths are attributed to American bombing and Pakistan, they were either Al Qaeda or Taliban.

This is how the West, that is NATO justifies killing millions of people outside their territories and for no apparent reason. They have appointed themselves moral police and via dark propaganda have sanitized their actions to be in protection of humanity, territorial integrity and the safety of their Western civilisation.

They call it protecting human rights when all it is trampling of same human rights and imperialism. It’s merely an imposition of foreign customs, norms and mores on the local populace, whether they welcome it or not.

They have crafted the art of making themselves appear as saviours that should a killing of civilians occur in America, even the victims themselves are made to blame themselves. Should a white boy storm a church full of black people and kill them, it is their fault for being black, Hispanics are to blame for being in America, same as Chinese as well as transgender people.

They have exported this to other countries too and these countries include Zimbabwe. We have their local surrogates who believe and see Americans as saviours and do not see through their nefarious agenda, either deliberately or totally convinced. Americans have been able to show Zimbabweans that they are not victims of American economic sanctions and yet they are called economic sanctions! How the Zimbabwean populace are not victims of ZIDERA, remains a mystery only the USA knows?

We have American sponsored organisations wreaking havoc in our system of governance, from Civic Society Organisations fomenting civil disobedience to shadowy cyber-organisations like Pachedu committing cyberterrorism, hacking government institutions websites and our people support that.

One will be shocked at the number of people who think our electoral system is flawed when world over, it is one of the most transparent. They think its flawed because the US said so and sponsored Pachedu to say so and therefore ZEC website deserves to be hacked. Worse, same people who will defend the murder of George Floyd and many other blacks in America will condemn the death of and demand justice for the terrorists killed on August 1 2018 and in January 2019.

They will happily have that used as an excuse to slap sanctions on Zimbabwe and not think of the consequences because it has been spun to make it look and sound good for them. How does a violation of human rights be in defense of human rights? How dense can we be that the perpetrators of the worst atrocities are self-appointed custodians of morals?

Whereas the sanctions on Zimbabwe, the hacking of government websites and the fomenting of civil unrest should all be described as terrorism and acts of war and provocation by the US on our people foolishly believe it’s for their own good!

Apparently all American actions are not war crimes. From the murdered civilians of Vietnam and the Mỹ Lai massacre, Haditha, and all other places the US Army has deployed, nothing has changed, war crimes only apply to American adversaries. Is it a wonder that they have branded us as such?

Wake up Zimbabwe, Americans are not saints!
