Ambassador Gapare appointed Protocol Chief

President Mnangagwa has approved the appointment of Ambassador Gideon Gumisai Gapare as Chief of Protocol of the President and Cabinet.
Ambassador Gapare replaces Ambassador Chitsaka Chipaziwa who retires on November 7.
In a statement, Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda said Ambassador Gapare is a seasoned public servant.
“Ambassador Gideon Gapare holds a degree in Administration. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an administration in 1984 and rose through the ranks to Director for Policy Research, Communications Training and later Chief Director for Protocol in the office of the President and cabinet.
In-between the years, Ambassador Gapare held the posts of Counsellor and Head of Chancery and Charge d’Affairs in Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo,” Dr Sibanda stated in the issued statement.
Dr Sibanda said Ambassador Gapare worked at the highest level of diplomacy across the world, including Washington
“He later became, Minister Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission in Washington DC. He also held a post of Deputy Director of Multilateral Affairs and was later appointed the Ambassador of Zimbabwe to the Federative Republic of Brazil,” he said.
