All eyes on Loga…as Zimbabwe gets fair draw

The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations draw held in Yoaunde, Cameroon, saw Zimbabwe being placed in Group B, together with Senegal, Guinea and Malawi.

Senegal are seen as tough opponents, being Africa`s number one soccer team, however fans are fancying their chances against Guinea and Malawi.

The tournament runs from January 9 to February 6 2022.

Only top two teams from the group will qualify to the next round of the tournament.

Zimbabwe was represented by ZIFA President Felton Kamambo and Warriors team Manager Wellington Mupandare.

The colourful event was also attended by CAF president Patrice Motsepe who was among a host of dignitaries who includes African legends El Hadji Diouf, Didier Drobga, Assamoah Gyan Samel Eto`o and Roger Miller

 

Judging from previous tournaments this the best chance for the Warriors to progress to the next round.

The Warriors first match will be against the Lions of Teranga on January 10.

Four days later they will clash against Malawi before their last first round match on January 18 against Guinea.

The Warriors will have to deal with two Liverpool stars in their group.

Attacking Senegalese striker and Captain Sadio Mane and Guinea attacker Naby Keita.

Zimbabwe Warriors last meeting with the Lions of Teranga was in 2019 at the Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria Senegal won the match by two goals.
