Bulawayo giants Highlanders FC appointed former Warriors striker Agent ‘Ajira’ Sawu as the second assistant to Kelvin Kaindu.
Sawu holds a CAF B license in coaching, a UEFA certificate in Football Management as well as a certificate in Soccer Management and Scouting.
Sawu was introduced to Bosso players and other members of the club’s technical team at White City Stadium outside grounds where the Bulawayo football giants held their afternoon training session yesterday.
Also present was new club chairman Kenneth Mhlophe, his deputy Fiso Siziba, secretary-general Morgen Dube, committee member Kindman Ndlovu, and club’s chief executive officer Ronald Moyo.
“It’s a dream come true. I’m a Bulawayo boy. I was raised in this great city and it is every Bulawayo boy’s dream to be part of the Highlanders family. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to play for Highlanders during my playing days but here I am today.
“I’m more than happy to join Bosso as a coach. I’m here to add value. This is a great team that needs everyone’s support,” said Sawu, a former coach at Bulawayo former Dream Team star joins a Bosso technical team that has Zambian gaffer Kelvin Kaindu as the head coach.
Try Ncube is the first assistant and Daniel “Kahembe” Khumalo the goalkeepers’ trainer.
In a statement posted on their social media pages, Bosso said:
“We are delighted to announce that Agent Sawu has joined Kelvin Kaindu’s backroom staff as the second assistant coach.
“Sawu holds a CAF B licence in coaching, a UEFA certificate in Football Management, and a certificate in Soccer Management and Scouting course. He has vast coaching experience, having coached the Zimbabwe national team Under-15 and Under-17 sides, Bantu Rovers, and recently Kwekwe United.”
Late last month, Bosso unveiled former Hwange assistant coach Ncube as their first assistant coach after the club had parted ways with Joel Luphahla after he reportedly turned down an offer to be the head coach of Highlanders developmental side Bosso90.
The Highlanders technical bench also has legendary Madinda Ndlovu whose role is to provide a link between the club’s developmental side and the first team.
Kaindu and his lieutenants will be expected to bring back the glory days at Bosso, a club that has been eluded by the league title for 18 years.
