Zimbabwe is in the midst of a third wave and its active COVID-19 cases have eclipsed ten thousand threshold by reaching 11 254 cases.
Out of the 10918 Covid-19 tests conducted today, 1442 were positive making the positivity rate 15 percent.
The number saw the active cases rising to an alarming figure of 10002 active cases.
Zimbabwe is currently in the middle of a Level 4 lockdown which was instituted in order to curb the spread of the virus.
Today, 33 deaths were recorded bringing the cumulative number of deaths to 1841.
The recovery rate in the country is at 75 percent, with 157 new recoveries recorded yesterday.
Despite the rising, Zimbabwe seems to be managing the pandemic better compared to other SADC counties.
South Africa has over a million confirmed cases while Zimbabwe has 51221 cases.
Namibia and Mozambique have 81270 cases and 74186 confirmed cases respectively.
Government continues to implement measures to curb the spread of the virus and reduce the fatality rate.
Vaccine efforts have been doubled to ensure a quick arrival at herd immunity.
