ZANU PF Mahuwe District has recommended that the former Mbire legislator, Cde David Butau be readmitted into the party.
This comes after Cde Butau had written to his local branch Takaedza through the Branch Chairperson Cde Lucky Chawasarira seeking readmission into the party, after his expulsion in 2015 for being a member of the Gamatox cabal.
In their recommendation, Mahuwe Party Ward stated that Cde Butau has been involved in many community development projects that have benefitted the community and has also assisted in schools development and a number of Empowerment projects for people in his personal capacity.
The District leadership feel that the projects should continue within the ambit of ZANU PF.
Cde Butau who contested in the 2018 Harmonised election and got over 4000 votes has been praised for his developmental projects by the local Party District leadership which has forwarded its recommendation for his readmission to the Mushumbi District Coordinating Committee for further recommendation.
It is not yet unclear whether Cde Butau, if admitted, will be interested in holding any high office, or he will choose to be a card carrying member.
Cde Butau wrote his letter to the District on May 2, and his branch wrote to the DCC on May 5.
