2021 A’level  record 84.67pc pass rate

2021 A’Level results are out with a 84.67 percent pass rate which is a 3.68 percent increase from last year.

 

Zimbabwe School Examination Council (ZIMSEC)  released the much anticipated 2021 A’Level results yesterday, releasing the results three weeks earlier than was the case for the 2020.

 

In a press statement made by the Chairman of ZIMSEC board, Professor Mwenje, ZIMSEC noted that 2021 November examinations results had a 3.6 percent increase compared to last year.

 

“There was a decrease of 2.03 percent in the candidate entries where the total number of candidates who sat for the November 2021 examinations was 49 128 as compared to 50287 in November 2020

Of these 48 234 wrote two or more subjects and 40 842 obtained Grade E or better translating to a 84.67 percent pass rate. “

 

The 2021 results showed the female candidates dominating the male candidates with a 4.32 percent higher pass rate despite having fewer candidates than the males

 

“The total number of female and male candidates for the 2021 November examinations were 20 262 and 20 337 respectively. Of those, 18043 females managed to get Grade E or better translating to a pass rate of 89.04 percent which was higher than that of last year which was 85.8 percent. Male candidates recorded a 84.72 percent pass rate with 17233 candidates acquiring Grade E or better. Compared to last year, male candidates also had an increase of 4.61 percent,” wrote Professor Mwenje.

 

Students are being advised that the results will be accessible online to all candidates and authorized Personnel with effect from Wednesday April 8, 2022 at 18:00 hour.

The results can be accessed online through the ZIMSEC portal on www.zimsec.co.zw. The portal will only be open for five days and heads of examination centers will be able to collect the results of their respective schools or centers from ZIMSEC regional offices on April 6, 2022.
